[Saris—2021]
Saris is a typeface designed for writing the Yiddish language (a language with an essentially Germanic vocabulary written with the Hebrew alphabet). It is my diploma project for the DSAA typographic design. This typography is inspired by the Vaybertaytch script (a typographic form specific to Yiddish in Europe from the thirteenth to the eighteenth century). This semi-cursive typeface exists in three weights and includes alternative letterforms depending on their placement in the word.
